Part 2 - Calling Those Things Into Existence
Now, let’s continue on from where we left off from the previous lesson. We understand that you cannot “see” your spirit, nevertheless it is brought to life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, when you receive Christ. In reference to the human spirit being given life by the Holy Spirit, Jesus said this: “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”(John 3:8).
*Anytime the bible capitalizes a word, such as Spirit, He, Him, etc., it denotes diety. In other words, spirit spelled with a lower case “s” would refer to the human spirit, or possibly a demonic spirit. Spirit spelled with a capital “S” indicates that the reference is the Holy Spirit.
Although our own spirits are invisible to us, and although the Holy Spirit is invisible to us, does that mean that God does not exist? Of course not! If you were to ask most born-again Christians if they absolutely know that the Sprit of God lives within them, they would emphatically affirm that yes, He does. If you were to ask most born-again Christians if they believe that there is a literal Heaven and a literal hell they would say, YES! They would most likely say that they believe it because the bible says so. They believe in God, and they believe what His Word has to say about such things; by faith. The Bible says so, so they BELIEVE.
We can ‘t “see” Heaven, yet we believe with all our hearts that it is real. We haven’t seen Jesus, face to face, but a born-again Christian KNOWS that Jesus is real and very much alive. The GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) says it this way in Hebrews 1:3: “His (God) Son is the reflection of God's glory and the exact likeness of God's being. He holds everything together through his powerful words. After he had cleansed people from their sins, he received the highest position, the one next to the Father in heaven.”
Stay with me, now, because this is where we get into some of the good stuff.
The Word of God states very plainly, that by Jesus’ scourging (stripes - KJV) that we WERE healed. It doesn’t say “might” be healed. It doesn’t say “Can” be healed. It doesn’t say “IF God chooses to heal me.” It says we WERE healed (1st Peter 2:24). When we choose to believe God’s Word, instead of physical circumstances, then we will experience healing. Keep in mind, that the natural mind can NOT perceive the things of the Spirit (1st Corinthians 2:14). Divine healing doesn’t happen because we can understand it with our human reasoning – it happens because we believe God’s Word in our inner-man. We believe in our spirit and our heart.
Jesus already bore our pain, sorrow, sickness, disease, and infirmities.
Isaiah 53:3-5 says:
“He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.”
“Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.”
“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.”
Many Christians still continue to experience the same sicknesses that the world suffers. Why? Lack of faith! I don’t mean lack of faith to be saved, or a lack of faith that God really exists, or a lack of faith that Jesus is returning, or a lack of faith in Heaven. They can believe in a Savior whom they haven’t met face to face or watched die on Calvary’s cross. They believe in a Heaven that they haven’t seen. Yet even though the bible says that Jesus already bore our sickness and pain in His body, when He was scourged, they don’t believe that they are healed. They “feel” sick, so they accept sickness, talk about sickness, and confess sickness.
Many people believe, hook, line and sinker, in the sickness, pain, poverty, or mental depression that they are experiencing. They will seek out and accept the knowledge of doctors, psychologists, and medical scientists. Many Christians will accept the word of the medical community without question. They will believe what the world’s medical system tells them instead of believing what the bible says. Sickness and sickly symptoms “feel” very real, in this temporal world. Many have died unnecessarily before their time or have had body parts removed because of very real “feeling” symptoms. I encourage Christians to believe God’s Word EVEN MORE than the nasty symptoms.
Without Christ, sickness can, and in many cases, will kill you. Without Christ, you are still under the curse of a fallen mankind and the sin-nature. Without Christ, you have no choice but to rely on natural science and surgery to save your life. Praise God! The Blood of Jesus redeems and rescues us from the curse. Galatians 3:13 says: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”. When Jesus died for us on the cross (tree), He redeemed us from the curse. Sickness came upon mankind as a result of Adam’s fall and the original sin. The 1st Adam messed everything up. The 2nd Adam, Jesus, redeemed us.
International Standard Version (©2008), Romans 3:25 tells us: “God offered as a place where atonement by the Messiah's blood would occur through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because he had waited patiently to deal with sins committed in the past.”
The natural (temporal) world can be harsh. So harsh, that you die. Eventually, we ALL die while living in the temporal realm. Praise God! Those of us whom are born-again, have eternal truth to live by, and to live in. 2nd Corinthians 4:18 tells us “while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Many people think that I’m radical and maybe even somewhat “touched” in the head to believe and preach like this. I’ve seen it work! Faith in God’s Word and the covenant of Jesus’ Blood has cured me of documented bowel disease, damaged shoulder muscles, flu, colds, stomach viruses, etcetera.
Divine healing works because it’s what the Word of God says! Jesus already bore my sickness! Jesus redeemed me and set me free from the law of sin and death. My mortal body will die, but it doesn’t have to be sick in the meantime. My mortality will perish, but my soul and spirit have been given eternal life when I accepted Jesus into my heart and was born-again. Sickness will try to come, but a born-again Christian has the Blood-bought right to make sure that it doesn’t stay! The same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells within born-again believers and makes alive our mortal bodies ( Romans 8:11). Sickness is part of death. Divine healing is part of eternal life. The bible says that it is appointed by God for everyone to die, (Hebrews 9:27) but it isn’t appointed by God for us to be sick.
Let’s revisit our opening scripture reference, Romans 4:16,17. God gives and imparts life, eternal life, to a dead spirit. God calls those things which don’t physically exist, into being, or existence. His Word says that Jesus already healed us. The dumb ol’ human body will accept sickness if you let it. It will get fat if you don’t care for it and feed it properly. The human body will accept influenza, stomach viruses, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or any other sickness if you let it. The Word of God says that Jesus bore all of it, in His body, on the cross. The Word of God says that when Jesus was mercilessly beaten and scourged, He provided healing for us. Now you have a choice. You can believe what the Word of God says about sickness and talk what the Word says, or you can believe what natural sickness and doctors say and talk about that.
The bible says that God sent His Word and healed me (Psalm 107:20). I’m going to believe the Word of God. 2nd Corinthians 4:13 says: “But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak,” The Word of God says that by Jesus’ scourging I was healed. The bible says that God sent His Word and healed me. I believe the Word of God so I’m going to speak it. I don’t speak about the symptoms when the devil attacks me with a flu, I speak the Word of God. Jesus said “Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.
I encourage you to start having deeper faith in God, by believing what His Word says. If you can believe in a Heaven that you haven’t seen, yet you still speak about it as though you’ve already seen it, then you can speak to sickness and command it to leave you, in Jesus name. Understand that this temporal world doesn’t have the final say. God’s Word has the final say! Believe the Word, speak the word. Call things into a state of being, which do not yet exist. We believe, therefore we speak. Start speaking to the mountains in your life. Command them to depart. Sickness, pain, poverty, sorrow, depression, etcetera. They must all obey the Word of God, when it is spoken in faith and when there is NO DOUBT in your heart.
Carefully study this message as often as you like. Study and research the scripture verses that I’ve referenced and quoted.
