WAN TED: Bold Harvesters

Luke 10
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

This picture was posted on one my friend's facebook wall. I commented that I agreed with it - providing it was marriage between a man and a woman; not two wives or two husbands . . . . .

How's That Working Out For You?

One morning, I was led by the Holy Spirit to post a strong evangelical plea on my facebook wall. It was not written to be eloquent nor a transcendental display of impressive penmanship. Instead, it is plaintive and 'straight-to-the point'.

This is what I posted:

I look at it this way - many people on facebook think it's perfectly alright to post so-called "adult" joke cartoons and make jokes about drunkenness, substance abuse, cussing, taking God's name in vain, and generally acting up as though God doesn’t exist, or doesn’t see. Question for those folks: "How's that workin' out for you? Do you feel any real peace in your life? Are you experiencing any 'real' love? Not the kind that makes your "forward" parts feel all tingly, but real, unconditional love. Are a few drinks and some tunes really worth gambling your eternal well-being for? Is working hard and cutting up on the weekend all there really is to life?

Merchandising The Gospel

It’s a well-known fact that the bible instructs us to not incur debt. Throughout the book of Proverbs we are repeatedly admonished to NOT sign promissory notes. Yet, many televised Christian ministries on the airwaves beg, tearfully implore, or resort to 'soft sale' manipulation, coaxing viewers into reaching for the telephone with credit card in hand. I've been seriously and prayerfully pondering this all-too-familiar trend and seeking discernment as to how the Lord actually feels about it.

RE: Remembrance Day - Is There Honor?

*WARNING* This Article May Offend You. I pray that it at least makes you ponder.

I received an email that well-stated the condition of my own belief system, as regards my nation, immigration, history, military honor, and my general sense of purpose as a Christian and also a Canadian. Our federal constitution was originally written with the declaration "one dominion under God". However, "Dominion Day" was renamed in 1982, to "Canada Day". While it's true that it's good to extol the name of the nation, and be proud of her, the nation was founded on CHRISTIAN/BIBLICAL principles and honor.

Those tangibles were written into our constitution to ensure that the fabric of our nation's society would continue to be governed and made safe by the eternal truths that founded this nation. The word of God was written on plaques and chiseled into walls of Parliament even. The Ten Commandments were placed in courts of justice and congressional halls. For 130 years Canadian citizens have declared in anthem: "God, keep our land, glorious and free". Jesus Christ said: "Whom the Son makes free, is free indeed." Without God, there is no real freedom.

The Comforter's Peace (Pt 1.) - "The Promise"

John 14: 26,27 (Amplified Bible)
ver.26 "But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you."

ver.27 "Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]"

Peace. Often talked about, highly sought after, and the term itself is languidly expressed as a form of greeting. With all the attention that this simple five letter word receives, it is often grossly misunderstood, and is considered by many to be elusive. Please join me, and let's develop a more intimate understanding of what the word of God says about peace.
