RE: Remembrance Day - Is There Honor?

*WARNING* This Article May Offend You. I pray that it at least makes you ponder.

I received an email that well-stated the condition of my own belief system, as regards my nation, immigration, history, military honor, and my general sense of purpose as a Christian and also a Canadian. Our federal constitution was originally written with the declaration "one dominion under God". However, "Dominion Day" was renamed in 1982, to "Canada Day". While it's true that it's good to extol the name of the nation, and be proud of her, the nation was founded on CHRISTIAN/BIBLICAL principles and honor.

Those tangibles were written into our constitution to ensure that the fabric of our nation's society would continue to be governed and made safe by the eternal truths that founded this nation. The word of God was written on plaques and chiseled into walls of Parliament even. The Ten Commandments were placed in courts of justice and congressional halls. For 130 years Canadian citizens have declared in anthem: "God, keep our land, glorious and free". Jesus Christ said: "Whom the Son makes free, is free indeed." Without God, there is no real freedom.

Now, on to my next point of observation and concern. We used to call November 11th, "Remembrance Day". It's now been changed to "Veteran's Day". It is right and proper to honor our military veterans and certainly those currently in service. However, "Remembrance Day" not only brought to mind our fallen soldiers, it brought remembrance of the ungodly, evil assault of the blitzkrieg, the dishonorable and cowardly attack unscrupulously forged against Pearl Harbor, and the sickening and horrific premeditated carnage against God's chosen people, the Jews. Many ill-informed pundits strive to deny the holocaust. Lest we forget, there was the deliberate attempt to purge the world of those whom Hitler's regime considered to be the retarded, the infirmed, the deformed, the unclean, the impure races, and of course, evangelical Christians.

Mankind doesn't like to be brought into remembrance of its sin-nature. We would rather blame something or someone else than ourselves. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, the serpent blamed God. Mankind would rather change the name of a civic holiday to something more "temporal", more national, more humanistic, than retain the unspoken reminder of God-consciousness; Dominion Day. Dominion Day reminded the speaker and the hearer that we were founded as "one dominion under God". Canada Day denotes only national awareness. See my point?

"Veterans Day" places just and proper honor upon our military and the men & women who honorably gave their lives to defend and uphold justice and freedom for all. Veterans Day reminds us that many of our nation's sons, daughters, husbands, mothers, fathers, wives, brothers and sisters are still willing to commit their lives to defend and uphold those principles. Remembrance Day didn't center the attention on the veterans only - it caused us to remember why the veterans fought & died. It kept us in remembrance that mankind IS ACCOUNTABLE for mankind's sin-nature. It reminded us of praying young mothers, grieving grandmothers and grandfathers, and worried, heartsick Moms and Dads.

These were they who valued God, freedom, family, and the right to live honorably before God and their fellow man. These were they who gathered in churches and living rooms to PRAY for safe keeping and victory. These were they who honored the policeman, the clergy, the teacher, the doctor, the nurse, and the elected leader. Those who held positions of authority generally desired to live honorably and uprightly as well. However, please consider that many in our nation no longer adhere to those age-old values.

Of course, there were always some who didn't give a care about God nor His values, but for the most part, the average Canadian citizen did care about those things - 60 years ago. Our present-day society parade sexuality and celebrate sex instead of teaching our young people to honor it as a blessing and covenant practice between husbands and wives.

Modern western society is driven in it's lust for faster, shinier, toys and gadgets; all in the name of technological advancement. Murder can be committed without fear of a death-sentence. When perverse political and business practices bring shame, loss, and reproach to tens, hundreds, thousands, or possibly millions of innocent victims, there are unbiblical, man-made laws and legal loopholes to protect the offenders.

News & media footage heighten awareness and bring public attention to death, carnage, and poor economics. Still, most television viewers won't accept the message of hope, forgiveness, and deliverance graciously proclaimed by Canadian ministries such as 100 Huntley Street and crossroads television. There are myriads of ardent fans who celebrate Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. My heart grieves when so many dismiss the Christ - whose birth we are now discouraged from celebrating and honoring with the simple expressions "God Bless you" and "Merry Christmas". These so-called antique expressions are not "politically correct" and may offend others of different religious beliefs.

In spite of morally dishonorable conduct, we still want the world to think of us as a fine honorable nation. Most of us still want everybody to like and respect us as a peace-keeping nation. Real peace is realized in Christ. The Holy Spirit is the only One who can guard the human heart and mind with divine peace. (Phillipians 4:7)

If we want the world to continue recognizing and respecting Canada as a valiant, honorable, and peaceful nation, let's get back to the author of peace - Jesus Christ. If we don't want foreigners demanding that we alter our national mandates and laws, then let's uphold them well ourselves.

I love y'all,

The following is a letter submitted to a certain publication's editor. I apologize, but I don't know whom the author is nor which publication/newspaper it was submitted to. I received this in an email.

Congratulations to our fellow Canadians in Quebec who had the courage and conviction to exhibit their common sense in officially banning the hijab for certain transactions where identity is mandatory.... It's a start. It's a privilege to be allowed to immigrate and to live in this country..... not a right. When this hit the e-news a few weeks ago, there was overwhelming support by the readers who AGREED with Quebec 's action.

The letter below says it all... keep it going.

A Letter to the Editor (excellent letter)

So many letter writers have explained how this land is made up of immigrants. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people why today's Canadian is not willing to accept the new kind of immigrant any longer.

Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to Canada , people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in Halifax and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new Canadian households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new and better life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.

Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labour laws to protect them. All they had were the skills, craftsmanship and desire they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. Canadians fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France, Japan, China, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Sweden, Poland and so many other places. None of these first generation Canadians ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Canadians fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the Freedom as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages was looking for the Ukrainian-Canadian or the German-Canadian or the Irish-Canadian. The people of France saw only Canadians.

And we carried one flag that represented our country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be a Canadian. They stirred the melting pot into one red and white bowl.

And here we are in 2011 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges, only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules-- one that includes a Canadian passport and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being a Canadian is all about. Canadians have been very open-hearted and open-minded regarding immigrants, whether they were fleeing poverty, dictatorship, persecution, or whatever else makes us think of those aforementioned immigrants who truly did ADOPT our country, and our flag and our morals and our customs, and left their wars, hatred, and divisions behind. I believe that the immigrants who landed in Canada in the early 1900s deserve better than that for the toil, hard work and sacrifice those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags, fighting foreign battles on our soil, making Canadians change to suit their religions and cultures, and wanting to change our countries fabric by claiming discrimination when we do not give in to their demands.

It's about time we get real and stand up for our forefathers rights, we are CANADIAN.

Lest we forget it, I am a Native of this Country & proud of it!

NO MORE POLITICAL CORRECT BS!

And while we're on the subject - We Want “CHRISTMAS” back in our stores, Courts, schools & Country!
I Want my Canada of birth BACK.
